The aim of my final major project was to explore the idea of the face in the crowd and the way individuality is often forgotten within modern society, especially living in a city like London.
When a mass of people congregate in one place, their individuality becomes absorbed by the crowd.
I have studied the microcosm of the crowd and the masses, looking at individuality and small moments and gestures within the larger population alongside the anonymity of modern city life.
From my final major project for my Art&Design Foundation. The Emirates Stadium. May 2008.
Love the geometry of this picture - the way the perspective you've chosen really emphasises the length of the stairs and the verticals (people and fences) break up the lines really well.
I like getting (and therefore giving) proper feedback. It makes you feel like a weal artist.
In that vein, here's mo'. It fits with your theme very well. I hadn't really thought about the theme, but yeah...these people all have one thing in common; the football. But what about when they start going home? Where and how do they all live? You start to formulate stories for each cluster; much more so than some of the other pictures, I find.
Too late now, but there's a book you might be able to pretensiously quote from if you fancy expanding your final project sometime. It's called "The Crowd", by Gustav Le Bon. It's all about the exploration and manipulation of group psychology.
"The substitution of the unconscious action of crowds for the conscious activity of individuals is one of the principal characteristics of the present age." etc. (in the preface, bitches)
The only problem, despite Le Bon was a psychoanalyst in the Freudian tradition; that book was eventually used by Goebbels for propaganda and rally design, so it might be a bit controversial to use.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure

A half-read book is a half-finished love affair.

Enjoy.
Also, I doubt it'll matter if it's controversial. The artistic community tend to thrive on controversy.

The artistic community will probably stick with slinging monkey crap at canvases. It shocks The Man.
